Football Lodge South West reached its first anniversary on 4 June 2026. Eleven days later, the Lodge met for Installation 2026 and the start of its second season.
A first year of growth
The Provincial Grand Master’s Chairman’s Corner looked back on a first year that had exceeded his expectations. The Lodge had begun with 31 founders. By the Installation on 15 June 2026, he reported 53 members.
He also highlighted the involvement of newer members, the balance between youth and experience, and the importance of keeping meetings enjoyable and affordable. Service and charity remained part of the Lodge’s direction, with community activity linking its Masonic and football identities.
Dated figure: The membership figure of 53 was reported at the Installation on 15 June 2026. It is not presented as a current total.
New members in the first season
The outgoing Master, Craig Cox, recorded that the Lodge had initiated a new candidate at every regular meeting during the first season, bringing three new members into Freemasonry. Joining members had added further strength, while members across the Lodge had taken part in its ceremonies.
The next chapter
At the Installation, Mark Bowes-Cavanagh was installed as Master. His approved message set out an intention to continue promoting the Lodge, increase community activity, support the schools football initiative and keep building something that members genuinely enjoyed being part of.
Installation 2026 therefore marked both an anniversary and a handover: a moment to recognise the founding season, welcome new leadership and begin the next stage of Football Lodge South West’s story.
